Whimsical Christmas and New Year's Blog Hop Dec. 28th and 29th

Welcome to the Whimsical Christmas and New Year’s Blog Hop!  You should have come from Jessica’s blog.  If you are starting here and wish to hop from the beginning of the hop, please visit Jessica’s blog. Hopefully, you’ll enjoy this blog hop that will include projects that are not the traditional holiday colors, but instead the beautiful colors that are another option. There were so many items that were such an inspiration for this hop at the stores this year.  Since this was a Seattle card and it is the emerald city, I should have used green, but I didn't have the same choices of papers in green, so I chose to use pink. I love the way this card turned out. It is beautiful in person.

I used two Impress Rubber stamps for this card. I stamped and embossed the Seattle skyline image, then for the colors I used various Copics and completed it with stickles. The corners were punched with an EK success corner punch.  I then placed it on top of the pink sparkle paper, which is Braun + Company glitter gift wrap, from Paper Source.  It is beautiful paper that I bought on a roll. It came in various colors and I had to get them all. LOL.  The sentiment stamp was stamped in pink and embossed. I distressed the edge with pink ink and placed it on the same pink glitter paper. The background paper is from a Recollection’s Christmas pack.  I used my distress tool for the edges. My BFF loved this tool, so I bought her one for Christmas. She was ecstatic about the gift. It is so fun to use, but a bit noisy. The ribbon is Celebrations from Michaels. It is all mounted on a piece of pink card stock.

The inside had to be done too. I used piece of the same paper for the top part of the card.  I added a piece of bright green card stock, and then added the same ribbon as on the front.  I punched snowflakes out of the same Recollections paper pack, with a Martha Stewart snowflake punch, but only used the center of the snowflake. I used an EK punch out of the pink glitter paper. The Happy Holiday and Ho Ho Ho are both K & Company.

Your next stop on the hop is Barbara’s blog.

I am offering blog candy of a set of Inkadinkado 15 circle and dots clear stamps, but you must participate with a comment for both days of the hop.  Don’t forget to come back again tomorrow for the New Year’s project.

13 Days of Halloween Blog Hop Day 2

DAY 2
Welcome to the 13 Days of Halloween Blog Hop.  This hop is scheduled from Oct. 19 at 8:00 am through Oct.31 at 11:00 pm (central time).  It's that time of year when the nights are all spooky and creatures are known to wander the forests.  So sit for a spell with a nice cup of hot apple cider and check out all the great projects.

If you just happened upon this hop, then welcome, but make sure to go back to the beginning and start at Lisa's blog.

We're so excited to be doing this hop and we have a fabulous lineup with some very talented ladies. There will be lots of fun projects, along with some great blog candy, and a great grand prize for this hop.

The hop is a 13 day hop with only 13 blogs to visit so you will have plenty of time to make it through the whole hop lineup 13 times.  Check out each blog and see what blog candy you can win at the individual stops.  Please come back all 13 days to see great projects.

Here is the complete lineup:

My project for today is a Halloween card that I made for my BFF. It is a small 4 1/4 x5 1/2 card. The branch stamp is an Impress stamp. The Happy Halloween came out of the $ bin at Micheal's. I stamped both with black ink and embossed them with clear embossing powder. The owl and witches hat are foam, from a couple of packs of Halloween packs that I had in my stash. I just loved the owl. It came as orange with the bandit look on it from the black ink. I cut the eyes from a page of Cloud 9 Design paper that was just these eyes, the perfect size. Then I added bright green stickles around the edge and black stickles in the eye.  The web is a foam sticker that I bought. I put a piece of black and white twine on for the spider's silk. The spider is a brad with diamond bling in the center. I used K&Company Smash black and white dot tape along the top.

I decided I needed to do the inside too. So I used a Lacey Oval  Spellbinder's Nestabilitie Set #S4-314 for the black oval, which is the 2nd one. Then I used the next smaller one, which is the 3rd one, with the same green card stock as the card, to make the top oval. The sentiment is a Northwood Rubber Stamp, which I just bought yesterday on clearance for 1/2 off at Ben Franklin. I love that store!

Your next stop is AMY  Have a great day and please stop back tomorrow for another great project.

Kyler's 1st Birthday Card

I made Kyler a card today, which was a circus card. I wanted to give him a circus birthday, but it didn't work out, since my daughter had to have disc replacement surgery this last week. We weren't sure how she would feel, so we were playing his party by ear. So, I made him a circus card.

The tent stamp is from Impress and is one of their own designed stamps. I embossed it on white paper, then cut it out. The banner is a Memory Box pennant stamp. I also embossed the ink with red to make it pop. I added punched letters and made a matching pennant flag for the circus tent with his age of 1 on it. The pole for the flag is a paperclip that I cut.  I cut the tent opening and put a lion brad on top of a pedestal. To make the pedestal, I used an EK coffee cup finger punch and trimmed a few spots. I added a yellow star brad in the middle.  I used gray straws for the tight wire and then I added red and white twin and a bicycle brad with the sock monkey brad doing a handstand. The paper is out of a 4 x6 DCWV paper stack.  The inside birthday stamp is from Stamp Craft. I stamped it and then used a Nestability to cut out the shape. The red striped paper was from a  DCWV paper stack.
