Fall Decor Blog Hop

If you have arrived here in blogger land and want to hop along then go back and start at the beginning at Shannon's site, then come back and visit me. She is the hostess and you don't want to miss the beginning of the hop.  I decided to participate in this hop that is all about fall decor. Nothing about Halloween, but only things used for fall decorations.

I love fall, the crisp air int he mornings and the warm days of September, which remind me of when I was a kid and didn't want to go back to school. Especially when we really don't get summer weather until about the end of July. Then usually a good month of weather in August and back to school to quickly when it was still nice outside.

I love to start decorating for fall with all of the warm colors at the beginning of September and then keep everything up all the way till Thanksgiving. Three months of warm colors in my house makes it feel cozy.

I decided to make a wreath for my project. I started out with a wreath that I purchased at the dollar store. I wrapped it in Fall ribbon.  I bought a Tim Holtz die for making fan folded flowers. However they were very small. The scoring is done for you and you only have to fold back and forth and then glue the ends together. However, I decided that I needed some bigger ones too. I started cutting different widths of paper, from 1 1/2 " up to 2 3/4". I cut two pieces of the same paper. I used DCWV Halloween and Fall pack and then some paper from a  Halloween/Fall paper pack that I had from Could 9. I scored the paper at every 1/2 inch. I folded the paper back and forth. This is a bit tedious and you could do this part in front o f the TV. Then I hooked the two pieces together with permanent tape (you could use anything, but make sure it is strong enough to hold them together), then put a round disk of paper on the back of the rosette and used hot glue to glue it in place. I punched some center pieces out of a scallop punch and popped up felt leaves on the scallop centers, then hot glued them onto the centers of the rosettes. I arranged the rosettes around the wreath so that the whole wreath was covered. I tried to even it out. I glued down the rosettes to the wreath using hot glue. I had a package of foam leaves that I added them to the outside of the wreath under the rosettes. I made a bow and added a piece of ribbon for a hanger.
