Hi Everyone! I decided that I would join in on this hop - the Bucket List and August Birthday Blog Hop! At first I was in dismay of what my project would be, but then I knew what one of my first thing that I would put on that list, so I decided to join in. Then the hop got changed to two days, so you all could enjoy more projects from everyone.  It's going to be a lot of fun. Everyone will be showcasing items from their bucket lists, so make sure to visit all of the participants. So don't forget to hop through again tomorrow, the 19th!

We will also be wishing happy birthday to a number of August babies. This includes our host, Michelle Hull!

Day ONE
What I made is a small Disneyland book for my grandsons. I would love to take both of them in maybe a year or too. We could record all of our favorite times in this book. It is a 6x6 size, but when you unfold it, it is made out of 3 - 12 x 12 papers. Each block is 6x6, leaving lots of room for photos.  There are a total of 10 blocks on the font and 8 blocks on the back to use for pictures. It ties together on both sides. My husband and I are total Disney nuts, so my daughter knows that the kids will be going with us first, although they will want to go too.  It is so fun to watch little kids with all of the characters.

The front

The front unfolded makes the first 12x12 paper, with 4 blocks of 6x6

this is the 2nd 12x12 page

1st block (5th block)

2nd block (6th block)

3rd block (7th block)

4th block (8th block)

When you flip the book over and open it up from the back the upper left corner is the back of the book, then you get 3 more blocks.

The corner right block is attached to 3 more blocks

The bottom right block is attached to two more blocks and the front of the book, making 8 blocks on the back.

This is the book unfolded. Note that there are 10 blocks for pictures.
This is the book unfolded on the back. Note that there are 8 blocks for pictures because the front and back of the book use two of the blocks.

I made a bucket list book. However, I did not get it finished. So it is a project that will be continued.
You can't have a bucket list without a bucket and a list!

My husband is in the process of getting his pilot's license. Once he gets it, then he wants me to go flying with him. This page needs a bit more to be finished.

Sorry about the glare, this says Site Seeing. The flags will say FLY and this will have another airplane on this page.

We are huge Mickey fans, so on my list is to take my two grandsons - Gavin and Kyler to Disneyland.

I hope we can go within the next few years.

I didn't put the words here, but this represents Hawaii.

I have never been to Hawaii and this is probably my only destination spot that I would like to see.

I have had this one on my list for a long time. I have always said that when I get the time, I want to see all of the National Parks.

I haven't camped in years, but would love to be able to enjoy the wilderness again. It might not include sleeping in a tent on the ground, but I might be able to sleep on a cot - bad back, so I will have to find out how that will be at some time in the future.

My goal is to get to the age of 55 and then retire. That will give me 26 years at the same company. I think that's long enough.

I hope that I will get to do this! Lots of relaxation time.

There is two pages here, but the 2nd one is just a blue sky. This is my moving page. Once we retire, we plan on moving out of the city. I didn't get this page done. My husband said it needs to include a huge barn. I have to have a big stamp/craft room, but he needs a 10 stall barn with a loft LOL! I told him all of his things will be in that barn.

This is another one of my pages that is incomplete. It is my Steam Train page. There are a lot of steam trains out there and I would love to ride on all of them.

If ou have never been on a ride, you must go. We rode the Silverton/Durango one during Christmas a couple of times, nearly 20 years ago and I have always wanted to go back. Plus I would love to check out the many other steam trains that are around the country, which offer breathtaking adventures.

I have been a sewer for years. However, I have only been a quilter for about 10 years. During the winter, I was getting together once a week with my good friend, Nancy, and sewing.

I have lots of unfinished quilts and many that I would still love to make.

I had to put this page in here. This is what brought me to blogging in the first place - my two BFF's, Gina and Laura. They are my stamping buddies. I started stamping about 6 years ago and caught the fever. Now we are inseparable.

Gina and I took a Copic's class recently and we did these 3 dresses quite a few times, learning different techniques each time. I thought that I would use it as a representation of our picture. We would all like to look like this, but well I'll just leave it at that. Sort of had an issue with gravity LOL.  Without finding a lot of money and a good doctor, I doubt it will happen in my lifetime, but it can represent good times with my best friends.

This is a very important page for me. Time with my grandsons! It should be listed as my #1 on the list.

With the boys, I want to be able to enjoy it all. They get to spend the night at our house, but I would also like to make the time as they grow to be involved in what they like doing, so they don't drift away.

I wanted to put a page together for my marriage. I want to remain married to my husband for life. We had a very long courtship and have only been married for almost 6 years. We got married late in life, so we have many anniversaries.

I would like to be able to celebrate out real 50th together. My girlfriend asked my husband how old will you be, in your late 90's? He said yep, but no sweat! So, I guess this is on his bucket list too! Thank goodness! LOL

Although I did not put my pages in any kind of do this first type of order, some like the previous page cannot be accomplished without me living long enough. So I added this page in, but didn't get it finished yet. This page represents my 100th birthday.

My body has not been participating on holding up, but I plan on hopefully changing that and moving forward. I look at this goal as being very far off in the future, not wanting to attain it too quickly. It's high on my list, since each day closer means another day alive, but it can be just left out there somewhere in the far, far, far distance.

I hope you enjoyed my journey. I am not sure how this will be put together yet, it turned out rather fat. I don't have large enough rings and will have to go looking for some larger ones. I still need to punch all of the holes too.

  1. Great book, you did a wonderful job on it!
As for the tear bears - you need to have the right paper or layer it (make 2 of each piece) I get my paper from thebearyscrap.com she has an extra thick paper that there is no need for layering, she also has a good tutorial. hope this helps
thanks for the sweet comments Tami
