Polar Bear Nut Cup

Please go vote for my Polar Bear Nut Cup.  I made 30 of these for my M-I-L's Rebekkah's regional meeting.  The theme was Coca Cola. Plus a few more for my BFF's.
Craft Idea's Contest

I used a Memory Box polar bear stamp. I increased the size on the copier. I covered the card stock with sticky backed fleece paper. I drew the face on, used brads for the eyes, and felt for the nose. The ribbon is made from some left over Christmas ribbon. The skies are made from red Popsicle sticks. The bindings are wire twisted around. The poles are toothpicks with red and white twine for the handles and red duct tape for the top. I used a snowflake punch on shrink plastic and shrunk it for the snowflake on the bottom of the pole. Cotton balls were used for the snow. I used a box die cut for the nut cup and cut it down to size. The coca cola bottle was a magnet from my fridge that I put on the printer and shrunk it to this size. I colored the lid red.

  5. thanks everyone. There is a good story to making these. My MIL asked me if I had any polar bear stamps around Thanksgiving. I said no, but maybe I might be able to find one. She said she wanted some nut cups and since I made cow ones for her before, wouldn't I want to make Coca Cola polar bear ones. Well I do have a Coca Cola kitchen. LOL Then the subject was dropped and not brought up again until March. Which then she emailed me and I didn't check my email for 2 days and when i checked, there it was, I need the nut cups by next week. 1 week to get them made and mailed. I live in WA, she in CO. Oh my. So down to the stamp store I went and bought a MB polar bear stamp and began my work. I am not sure how of it so fast, but it did start to come together. However, I wasn't done on Sat, some other commitments and work got in the way during the week, so I thought, well I will just not be able to mail them on Sat and will overnight them on Monday. So, i calmed down, finished and even had time to make 30 covered candy bars with eagles on nests and 30 little bags with forget-me-not flowers on tags and a small candy bar in the middle. Whew was I tired. My hubby helped with the bindings. I mean it was his mom, after all. LOL So on Monday, I went at lunch to mail the box. $56.00! Wow, so i sent them off with the post-lady assuring me that it would be at her house the next day. Well it wasn't. It got delivered on Wed. and she wasn't home. It needed a signature, since I had forgotten to mark the box. However, after I had mailed it, I called her and told her. She told me that she just received a call that the meeting was postponed due to a member's husband passing away that morning. However, on Thurs. she went and picked up the package and took it to the club's hall. A bunch of them met there to finish up some decorating and they all got to open the box together. They were ecstatic! They sent me a very nice thank you card and $50 to pay for postage. All the ladies got to take one home,as well as the chocolate goodies. I think they were all happy, because my MIL didn't have any extras.
