Bunnies and Blossoms Banner Hop for Special Needs Children

Welcome to the Bunnies and Blossoms Banner Hop for Special Needs Children.  If you came from Nancie’s blog then you are right where you’re supposed to be.  If you just happened upon my blog, then make sure to start at the beginning at Ellen’s blog so you don’t miss a thing.

Today and tomorrow (March 24-25), 30+fantastic papercrafters have come together to create Spring-themed banners.  They will then donate these banners to Ellen (CardMonkey), who works as Admissions Coordinator at Pediatric Specialty Care (PSC), www.pediatricspecialty.com.

PSC is a long-term care facility for special needs children who are medically-fragile and/or technologically-dependent. The babies, children and youths at PSC range in age from birth to 21, and are admitted from all over the country.
Some are infants, born prematurely and before their lungs have had a chance to mature. Others have serious birth defects, illnesses or injuries from accidents that cause them to need tender loving care in a home-like environment -- many for their lifetimes.

Our banners are meant to cheer the young patients, their families, and the staff at PSC. Here is the banner that I made and will be sending to Ellen to decorate a child's room:

I made my banner out of Mary Engelbreit chipboard book precut flowers, but made them look like bunny ears. The letters are a package of ATD, which is a division of Momenta. I used sparkly paper to cover the chipboard, using two pieces on each bunny head. I then added bling of all sorts out of my stash. The bunnies are hooked together with spring colored shear ribbon.

  1. Oh Tami, this is SOOOO sweet!!! I love the cute pennant shape with the bunny ears. They reminded me of Disney at springtime. Did you know that just yesterday, Disney showed a long-lost sketch that had been held in hiding for many years due to ownership and litigation issues? The character is called OSWALD the lucky rabbit, and his face looks like Mickey but he has long bunny ears. It's adorable! Just in time for Easter!

Thank you again for participating in the banner hops for special needs children. May your life always be blessed for the many kindnesses you show these children.

    Fondly,
    Ellen ♥ CardMonkey
